Collaborative Worldbuilding can be tough when unstructured, but using this 2-page tool, you can easily come up with a compelling campaign location or other setting with a few sheets of paper and friends.

Realmdraft works by creating a palate that places restrictions and foci on a world, then each player takes turns drawing and writing about people/places/things in that world, and passing it to the next person to further flesh out.

The “palette” tool comes from Archipelago by Matthijs Holter. https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/147623/Archipelago

I actually based the palette off a simplified version of Microscope. I haven't heard of this RPG until now, but I'm not surprised that an idea this simple has been replicated elsewhere.

Absolutely. I guess Holter evolved it from other sources, too.

This is a neat little helper to make worldbuilding more intuitive. The biggest obstacle will be people who go "oh no I can't draw" and refuse to do the 5 minute sketches, especially if you've got that one guy in the group who can draw movie-quality concept art within that time.

I suggest adding "discouraged" in between encouraged and banned concepts. Discouraged items should be very rare and are not day-to-day occurrences. They're things most societies in the setting consider sacrilegious or impossible, or which are heavily persecuted, even though they technically still exist.

Both fair points! In the couple of times I've played it, I haven't had anyone flat out refuse to draw, but I have had people who just didn't take it seriously. I wish I knew of a way to fix that design-wise, but I think that just comes down to who your group is.

I like your "discouraged" idea! For simplicity's sake I don't think I'll include it in the basic rules, but if I find the time to make a major update to the game, I'll add it as an advanced rule.
