Introducing the Pioneer Corps

Hello all! With the new version of the Age Cut Short, I am pleased to announce the Pioneer Corps, a group of explorers and craftsmen trying to eke out an existence on the border between empire and wilderness. Their unique suit theme is Obsolescence, as their methods of taking on the wilderness have grown outdated with the arrival of new technology. They are also the first order to possess a unique mechanic of terrain features. Depending on how it goes, other factions might also gain that feature or others.

When creating this faction, I took inspiration from stories such as the Pony Express, an organization of American horseback mail-carriers that travelled between California and Missouri until their jobs were made obsolete by the telegraph. I found that to be such an interesting state of mind to explore, a losing a desperate battle against the march of time in such a manner, their company crushed by the arrival of a new age.

In addition, the Mission has also gained an alternate suit: The Ancients. This suit theme is an optional replacement for the Natives, to allow players to get more of the vibe of a Monastery rather than conquistadors.
