Yet Another Murder Mystery
A downloadable game
Yet Another Murder Mystery is a solo journaling game of crime, conspiracy, and playing cards. Using nothing more than a standard deck and your own imagination, you'll step into the worn-out shoes of a gumshoe detective tasked with solving a new murder in a city that's forgotten what justice looks like.
Features
An Endless Case File: Every shuffle of the deck generates a unique mystery. New victim, a different crime scene, and a fresh lineup of suspects every time you play. One minute you're investigating a Tycoon found in his mansion, the next you're questioning a shady Politician about a body at the docks.
Playing the Game
A Murder Occurs
Set up the crime scene. Each card's rank and suit determine the roles, locations, clues, and relationships that bring your story to life. Some cards represent the victim or crime scene, and others represent suspects and their alibis. Some cards start hidden and must be uncovered. Other cards are known but may not be what they seem.
Investigate:
“Spill it!” Flip a facedown card.
"Something's not right.” Choose any face-up role or alibi card. Flip the top card of the deck. If neither the rank nor suits match, discard and replace the chosen card.
“Look what we’ve got here.” Add a clue card to one specific suspect.
Different types of detectives also get unique actions.
Prosecute:
The final verdict is in the cards. Once you make your accusation, the strength of the evidence is determined by a simple poker hand. Did you build a rock-solid case, or did the real killer get away Scott-free?
Challenging Cases:
Ready for more? Draw an additional card at setup and consult the Complication and Boon tables for a unique scenario.
